Meet Dr Jacqui Tuckey with our friends at the Secret Garden Winchester

Winchester GP is delighted to offer a comprehensive menopause support service. The service is led by Consultant Gynaecologist Dr Jacqui Tuckey MBChB, MRCOG, and she is supported by our team of GPs, several of whom also have special interests in women’s health. Dr Jacqui is recognised as a Menopause Specialist by the British Menopause Society.

Jacqui has over 24 years of expertise in menopause. She can prescribe at a specialist level including body identical HRT and testosterone, if required, to get you back to feeling your best. With the additional support of our GP team, you can be assured of consistent bespoke support.

I have more than 30 years experience in women’s health, and have held consultant roles in contraception and sexual health, menopause and most recently IVF at a private clinic in Southampton. Most of us now spend a third of our lives in the post-menopause and many women have great difficulty in accessing the care and understanding that they need for their particular health needs at this time. I am passionate about helping women to understand what is happening and enabling them to feel as well as possible.”

Tailored consistent support

Our suggested care package covers approximately 3 months. The journey begins with a comprehensive consultation with Jacqui, either face to face or by video, to take a detailed history, explore your concerns and symptoms, and agree an initial support plan.

Two to 3 months later you will have a formal review appointment.

In between your two main appointments, we understand that you might have questions or need reassurance, so we also include either one 10 minute phone call or two interim queries via our secure online portal.

Our Menopause Support Package is the best value way to get the level of support we think you deserve. If you prefer to book on a pay as you go basis initially, you will have the option to upgrade to the package within 7 days of your initial consultation.

Ready to book? You have 3 easy options:

1) Use the button below to book directly online- we’ll invoice the Pay as You go price initially but you can upgrade to the package within 7 days of your initial consult by paying £130

2) Call our friendly reception team on 01962 776010

3) Use the contact me form below and we will get in touch to book you in.

Three months and beyond…

By this point, we would hope that you would be starting to feel the benefits of treatment but, of course, individual results can vary. We will be delighted to continue supporting you with regular reviews and monitoring, in accordance with NICE protocols, as well as repeat prescriptions. You may consult with Dr Tuckey or with one of our GPs, Dr Rina, Dr Catherine or Dr Tanya, all of whom have a special interest in women’s health.

+ What about blood tests?

Many women are keen to arrange testing to ‘see where they are at’, in relation to clinical norms. Jacqui is very happy to review any tests you have already had, and can arrange further testing if this is felt appropriate. That being said, after assessing for specific risk factors, Dr Tuckey is mainly concerned with your personal experience and symptoms. This, in turn, means that regular testing is often not needed at all.
Any investigations undertaken privately will be chargeable, with prices varying according to your individual needs. A typical menopause blood screening package including general health markers and hormone levels starts at £270.

+ How will prescriptions work?

There is no additional fee for writing prescriptions as part of the menopause support package. All prescriptions will be private, and the medication will be charged for by your chosen pharmacy. Prices vary depending on the treatment used, but £15/item/month is a reasonable ball park figure. Once you have found a regimen that works well for you, you may wish to revert to your NHS GP for ongoing prescribing. If you continue your prescriptions privately after the initial 3 month period, any prescriptions issued without a consultation will carry a £10 admin fee (or free for our subscriber patients).
